Raised € 1000,- for charity Save the Children

I am always busy recycling and strive to reuse every material produced or found in my practice. Before the summer, I stumbled upon some amazing fabric that was left-over from my project Niet Meer Normaal (2022). The glitchy, colorful image printed on the fabric I’ve created, making this fabric totally unique. With the creative and crafty help of Fanny Nagy we present 8 UNIQUE ‘relaxrobes’ which are also lined with cotton on the inside.

“A relaxrobe is something like a bathrobe, but you can
also dance, shine, relax or chill in it.”

The idea of making relaxrobes came also from how this object made me think and feel about my own privilege. I have the freedom to dress as uniquely as I want, to visit a sauna, or to simply feel cozy and safe at all times. This stands in stark contrast to the reality faced by many people, especially children, whose safety, well-being, and futures are under threat in an increasingly dangerous and unequal world. Therefore I’d auctioned these relaxrobes and raised € 1000,- charity Save the Children. As you may know, 1 in 27 people are expected to need humanitarian assistance this year. Save the Children aims to assist 15.9 million children across 46 countries in response to the most significant threat to children’s rights in recent memory.
